Okay – I don’t really live with my parents, but as of November 29th, I am officially unemployed (more on that in a minute).
Don’t worry, I’m not here to ask for money, at least not yet.
What I am here for is to officially introduce myself and tell you what’s in store for Text Mechanic™.
My name is Mike and I’m the creator of Text Mechanic™. You can read more about me here.
For starters, I’d like to apologize for that pop-up that you’ve been seeing for the past few weeks on here – it’ll be gone by the time you read this, but I did want to let you know that it was there for a reason.
For the past 10+ years, things have been kept as simple as humanly possible on here so that you can stop by, do what you need to do, and get the hell out.
I get it.
I’m a tool and I’m just here to get used and abused – no hard feelings.
With that being said, I am a strong believer that if you’re not moving forward, you’re moving backwards, so what I needed to do was get a little bit of input from you guys during that time to learn more about what type of tools/resources you wanted to see more of on here.
After all, nobody likes stale bread.
Your feedback and support has been overwhelmingly awesome, and I really thank you for that!
I’ve got enough ideas to keep me busy for a while, and with that whole unemployment thing being so hot right now, it kinda works out.
To be honest though, I’m actually kind of glad I got laid off.
Sure, it wasn’t the best timing right before the holidays and all (sorry kiddos, Wal-Mart this year), but it’s opened my eyes to a few things:
Now in order for all of this to come together nicely, I have to create a win-win deal with you guys.
A deal that makes you happy as well as making me not homeless at the same time.
Here’s what I’m thinking.
I think this is a pretty good deal for everyone, but hey, only time will tell, right?
It’s not like I intend to get rich off this website, but since I have had it for a while, I do want to do the best I can to make it work…especially now more than ever.
Who knows what will happen, but what I do know is that for over a decade, I would always get a 🙂 on my face each time I would get an email telling me how helpful the tools are.
It just so happens that now I can dedicate all of my time into making Text Mechanic™ an even better resource for everyone, and that’s what I plan on doing regardless of how things play out.
Well, I think that wraps up my first official blog post.
I’m a much better dev than writer so if I didn’t make sense, left anything out, or you just want to tell me “hi” for the first time, just drop a comment below.
Thanks for reading, guys!
PS – How’s that for an introduction after being just being a wall of text for over 10 years? 🙂
